Money In The Mountains, Take Three, At Big Diamond Speedway This Friday Evening
Story By: BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – With no cooperation from the finicky Mother Nature, the Big Diamond Speedway was once again forced to cancel last Friday spoiling the first ever visit by the ULMS Super Late Model series.
The track and the ULMS officials have officially postponed the show for 2021 but the series will be on the schedule next year in 2022.
This week at the Big Diamond Speedway it will be Tony’s Meat Market night with another big show on tap for the fans and competitors as the twice postponed “Money in the Mountains” race has been added to the schedule for the Insigner Performance Modifieds. The 40-lap feature event will pay $5,000 to the winner. The first two modified races of the year have been won by Timmy Buckwalter and Billy Pauch Jr but if either of these two drivers plan to repeat, there will be a bevy of drivers who plan to have a say in that. Craig Von Dohren, Jeff Strunk, Danny Bouc, Duane Howard, Ryan Krachun, Mike Gular and Rick Laubach are just a few of the talented modified drivers that will be looking to take home the big check on Friday night.
There will be a change in the rules. The MITM race will now be a SPEC HEAD SHOW ONLY, no Big Blocks. Spec head motors on gas must weigh 2275 and spec heads motors on alcohol must weigh 2350. 75 Show up points will go to all drivers. This is a draw show.
The Modifieds will also take part in the DirtTrackDigest.TV “Dash for Cash” with $400 going to the winner. All other participants will receive $50 courtesy of DTD.TV.
This Friday night will also feature the return of the ARDC Midgets for their first of three scheduled visits to Big Diamond. The ARDC midgets feature a rich and long history, and it is a pleasure to have them back at Big Diamond Speedway as they open their 2021 season. Midget racing has become very popular in the northeast and across the nation and we welcome them back to the track.
Also, part of Friday’s racing card will be the USS Achey Open Sportsman, the Savage 61 Crate Sportsman along with the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners with each division running a full card of heats and features.
Pit Gates open at 5:00 PM with the Grandstand Gates set to open at 5:30 PM. Warmups start at 7:15 PM with racing getting underway at 7:45 PM.
