Paul McMahan & CJB Motorsports Stout At World Of Outlaws Bristol Throwdown
Story By: NATALIE JACKSON / CJB MOTORSPORTS – CARLISLE, PA – For 20 years, the lore of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series at Bristol Motor Speedway has caused fans to reminisce about the speeds and danger.
In 2021, the series returned to the high banks of the, “worlds fastest half mile,” for a two day event, beginning on Friday, April 23rd. CJB Motorsports was in attendance with veteran Paul McMahan behind the wheel of the #23 machine.
McMahan timed 4th, finished 2nd in his heat race and 4th in the dash. The team rounded out the night with a 9th place finish in the feature.
The following night, McMahan timed in 7th, finished 2nd in his heat race and 4th in the dash. The team scored a 5th place finish in the feature run on Sunday afternoon.
“Barry and I picked up right where we left off in 2015,” said McMahan, driver of the #23 RE Pierson Construction, Nyce, Crete & Landis Block and Concrete, C&S Lawn and Landscape, High Performance Lubricants, Ecynbro Trucking machine. “It was cool to drive Bristol again and we were fast. My Kistler Racing Engines were tuned up great and made incredible speed. To come out with a top-5 and two top-10’s is pretty incredible against this field of competition.”
The team will be back in action this weekend with the Flo Racing All Star Circuit of Champions this weekend with stops at Lernerville Speedway near Sarver, Pa. Sharon (Ohio) Speedway and Tri-City Speedway near Franklin, Pa. will form a triple header, beginning Friday, April 30.
“Looking forward to the weekend,” said McMahan. “I feel like we are clicking pretty well and we’re getting back to full speed.”
