Dietrich Rallies For Top-Five At Lincoln; Williams Grove, Port Royal, Selinsgrove Ahead
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / GARY KAUFFMAN RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – A last minute decision to visit Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, March 20, rather than make the tow to Port Royal Speedway proved to be a sound decision for the defending Central PA Sprint Cars Point Series champion, as “Double-D” Danny Dietrich rallied from row six to secure another top-five result in the Pigeon Hills.
Although Dietrich’s charge did not result in a victory, falling short of his jump from 15th to win from one weekend prior, the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native still managed to climb eight spots from 12th to finish fourth, making his way into a top-five spot by lap 17 of 30. In addition, Dietrich’s efforts secured a second hard charger award in as many weeks, gaining a combined 22 positions in two feature starts.
“This is a total team effort,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car. “It says a lot when you start deep and still have the potential to win every time you hit the track. We have a pretty stout weekend ahead of us, but we’re ready for it.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2021 season with a three-pack in Central Pennsylvania, this time setting their aim on visits to Williams Grove Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and Selinsgrove Speedway on Friday through Sunday, March 26-28. Williams Grove’s Friday evening showcase, its first night race of the year after action on March 19 was halted due to weather, will award a $5,500 top prize.
