Short Track Super Series’ 2021 ‘Cajun Swing’ Dates Set for November 10th-13th
Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – MILLSBORO, DE – The details are set for the 2021 edition of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Cajun Swing’ in November.
Both Jerry Hobson, promoter of Chatham Speedway in Chatham, La., and Gene Boyter of Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., have both renewed their commitment to STSS organizer Brett Deyo for the ’21 season.
“The ‘Cajun Swing’ showed so much potential in 2020 despite being a late addition to the schedule and battling COVID travel restrictions,” Deyo said. “We had so much positive feedback from traveling and local racers and fans watching from home on Dirt Track Digest TV. We now have the entire year to build and promote the swing.”
Ark-La-Tex, located just miles from the Texas border, will be the first to host the rumble of the STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds on Wednesday, November 10 (40 laps, $4,000 to win) and Thursday, November 11 (50 laps, $5,000 to win) to kick off the Bayou State visit.
Ark-La-Tex promoter Gene Boyter only hosts limited events at his facility but couldn’t wait to bring the STSS Modifieds back to town.
“I really enjoyed it,” Boyter said.
He wasn’t lying. Boyter, who races locally in the Pro Mod class, liked the Northeast Modifieds so much that he now owns one. He recently purchased a Hig Fab Chassis and is readying it for competition in 2021.
Following a pair of nights at Ark-La-Tex, the teams move 115 miles east to Chatham Speedway for the ‘Mods in the Marsh 75’ weekend. Friday, November 12 will be reserved for Qualifying Night, with the $20,000-to-win, 75-lap main event on Saturday, November 13.
Further information, bonuses and incentives for teams will be released throughout the summer months. Support divisions will be included on each night throughout the swing.
Locally, the STSS ‘Cajun Region’ for Louisiana-Texas Modified competitors continues to build. The season opener is planned for Saturday, March 27 at Chatham Speedway with a dozen events expected.
