Danny Dietrich Ends Visit To Park Jefferson Speedway With Podium Finish
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / GARY KAUFFMAN RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – His first weekend as a full-time All Star Circuit of Champions competitor, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania’s Danny Dietrich put together an impressive two-day campaign at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, South Dakota, and scored back-to-back A-Main starts, finishing 12th on Friday, May 29, before nailing down a podium run on Saturday, May 30.
The podium result, Dietrich’s sixth top-five finish of the 2020 season, was the product of row two, initially fading during the 25-lap, $6,900-to-win main event before charging back for a third place outcome. ‘Double-D’ finished second during his respective heat race and dash to earn the second row starting position.
Dietrich’s 12th-place finish on Friday was the product of row eight, earning his way into the 25-lap preliminary by finishing second during his respective heat race.
Forty-three All Star sprint cars made the call on Friday and 42 entered action on Saturday.
“I think our car was pretty good all weekend. We just didn’t have the results to show for on Friday. Regardless, I’m proud of my guys. They busted their butts all weekend and it really showed on Saturday,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market’/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “We are having a lot of fun out here, but that wouldn’t be possible without Gary Kauffman’s support, and of course, the support from all of our partners. We are going to do our best to make our PA fans proud.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their rookie campaign with the All Star Circuit of Champions will a trip south into Oklahoma, first visiting Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma, on Thursday, June 4, officially commencing the 2020 edition of Cometic Gasket Thunder Through The Plains presented by Hercules Tires. The Lawton visit will kick-off three straight days of action in the Sooner State with stops at Red Dirt Raceway and Outlaw Motor Speedway to follow, respectively.
With only two point races in the books, Danny Dietrich is currently fourth in the All Star Circuit of Champions driver standings, 26-points out of the top spot.
