Tire Problems For Matt Sheppard; Larry Wight Captures ‘Return From The Corona 32’ At Chatham Speedway
Information By: SOUTHERN SUPER MODIFIED SERIES – CHATHAM, LA – The Return from the Corona event on Friday evening at Lousiana’s Chatham Speedway looked like it was going to be captured by Waterloo, NY’s Matt Sheppard.
However, his left rear tire had other ideas.
Coming to the checkered flag, Sheppard’s tire went down, and Gypsum Racing’s Larry Wight was able to squeak by for the victory. Sheppard did, however, cross the line in second. Stewart Friesen was third at the finish followed by Jack Lehner in fourth and Jessica Friesen completing the top five.
Erick Rudolph looked like he was going to be one of the cars to beat, starting from the outside of the front row. However, a cut right rear tire with seven laps remaining while running in the runner-up position an end to his promising evening.
More to come…
