Short Track Super Series Announces Event Postponements At Delaware & Five Mile Point
Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – MILLSBORO, DE – It was scheduled to be a busy week with events in both Delaware and New York State.
Instead, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco will remain on the sidelines due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
Both the ‘Diamond State 50’ at Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, Del., Wednesday, April 29 and the 70th Anniversary Special at Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, N.Y., Sunday, May 3 have been postponed indefinitely.
“We will continue to monitor the government regulations – national, state and local – and keep our fans and racers updated,” STSS organizer Brett Deyo said.
The Delaware International event was slated to offer points toward the Velocita-USA South Region presented by Design for Vision and Sunglass Central in both the STSS Modified and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman divisions.
The highly anticipated Five Mile Point event – the first STSS event at the track and the return of BD Motorsports Media-promoted programs to the historic facility after seven years away – was to be part of the Halmar International North Region for STSS Modifieds and Crate 602 Sportsman.
