Mat Williamson’s Set To Chase Short Track Super Series Sunshine Swing Cash At All-Tech
Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – LAKE CITY, FL – For dirt Modified teams, there are unprecedented purses available during the ‘Sunshine Swing’ at All-Tech Raceway in February.
Thanks to a joint venture between All-Tech management and the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco, STSS big-block/small-block Modified racers will have the ability to compete for $5,000, $7,500 and $10,000 top prizes, respectively, on February 6, 7 and 8 at the facility located west of Jacksonville.
With large cash payouts now available in Florida, it’s only appropriate ‘Money Mat’ will head south to chase them.
Mat Williamson, the Canadian driver who earned numerous high-dollar victories last season including the $100,000 Centennial Race at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y., has officially filed his ‘Sunshine Swing’ Modified entry.
Williamson will climb aboard the Behrent’s Performance Warehouse No. 3 for the inaugural venture to All-Tech.
Williamson recently completed his second STSS Halmar International North Region season driving the Behrent’s mount. In his two seasons, he has placed third in the ’18 point standings and registered a fifth in ’19.
