Howard & Von Dohren Split Modified Features Saturday At Grandview

Information By: GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Duane Howard and Craig Von Dohren took home the two Modified features held Saturday night at the Grandview Speedway.

Oley, PA was well represented on Saturday night as both Modified feature winners call the little townhome. Five-time T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified champion Duane Howard drove the Norm’s Save Station entry to victory in the 30-lap NASCAR feature that opened the Saturday night show of stock car racing at Grandview Speedway.

The race was a feature rained out on June 1. Craig Von Dohren, a ten-time track champion, drove the Pioneer entry to his third win of the season in the second 30-lap Modified feature of the night. And in the 25-lap T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman feature Parker Guldin, the first-year racer at Grandview, drove to his first career win.

Finishing second to Howard was Steve Swinehart after leading several laps. The third spot was earned by ten-time NASCAR track champion Jeff Strunk. Jordan Henn came home fourth followed by Kevin Hirthler.

Kevin Hirthler charged to second behind Von Dohren. Doug Manmiller gained a third for his best finish of the season. Jared Umbenhauer and Duane Howard grabbed fourth and fifth.

Second to Guldin was veteran Brad Brightbill with Dean Bachman taking third. Sean Weis took fourth followed by Mark Kemmerer. Guldin also earned an extra $100 from the track for being the first Sportsman Crate racer to finish.

Here is what is coming next at Grandview. Saturday, June 22nd, Wingless Super Sportsman make their first appearance in a tripleheader that also features the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds and the T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman plus the qualifying events for all divisions. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing getting the green at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission for this tripleheader card is just $15 for adults while youngsters under 12 are admitted free.

On Sunday, June 23, 1 p.m. Outlaw Enduro and Blast from the Past Vintage racing action is the attraction.

And come Saturday, June 29th, the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series (MASS) returns for their second appearance of the season. The Modifieds, Sportsman and MASS Sprints will top off their great night of racing action in that order with their features after an action-packed night of qualifying events. Adult admission will be $18, youngsters 6 through 11 pay just $5 and under 6 are admitted free. Racing gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m.
