Danny Dietrich Scores Back-To-Back Podium Finishes With Greatest Show On Dirt
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / GARY KAUFFMAN RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing represented their Central Pennsylvania fans well during the recent World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series invasion, capping off the weekend with back-to-back podium finishes with the Greatest Show On Dirt at Williams Grove Speedway, highlighting the weekend with a runner-up performance during the Morgan Cup preliminary on Friday, May 17.
Although falling one spot shy of matching his Friday night performance, ‘Double-D’ rallied from sixth to finish third during the $12,000-to-win Morgan Cup finale on Saturday, May 18. In fact, Dietrich was in a podium position by the completion of lap one, bouncing from the outside of row three to third in a single circuit.
Adding to his weekend consistency, Dietrich scored a heat race victory during each of the Williams Grove Speedway programs.
“It was a great weekend for our team and everyone involved. Not to mention, it was a great way for us to rebound after pulling off early during the Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln. I’d say we made that up pretty quick,” Danny Dietrich explained, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “I really can’t say enough about my team and their work ethic. My guys work their tails off night in and night out and it shows. We’re looking ahead and we have a lot we want to accomplish. I think we are all ready to get after it.”
Up next on the schedule, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will tackle four events in six days, two of which at the ‘Speed Palace’ that is Port Royal Speedway. Dietrich’s week will commence officially on Tuesday, May 21, with World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition at Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, New Jersey.
After two days off, Dietrich’s attention will turn back to Central Pennsylvania where the four-time winner in 2019 will enter action at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 24, followed by back-to-back nights at the Port Royal Speedway ‘Speed Palace’ on Saturday and Sunday, May 25 & 26.
Williams Grove Speedway will host the Lynn Paxton Tribute awarding $4,771 to kick-off Memorial Day weekend in Posse Country, just before Port Royal Speedway plans to award back-to-back $10,000 top prizes during the highly anticipated Bob Weikert Memorial.
