Season Opener At Utica-Rome This Sunday; Special Discount Admission Offered

Story By: JOHN TIFF / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – Do you want to see some more racing and get a discount for doing so? Then come out to Utica-Rome Speedway on Sunday, April 28 for the kick-off to the 2019 racing season.

If you went to the races on Saturday night and bring your ticket stub with you from your home track on Sunday you’ll receive $2 off at the general admission window making the night’s racing program just $11. This offer is only eligible for those coming in the front gate and not the pit area.

“We have a lot of great racing going on this weekend,” stated promoter Bill Shea. “We wanted to offer fans a chance to come out for one more night on Sunday at Utica-Rome Speedway while giving them a discount.”

The highlight of the night is the kick-off to the VP Racing Fuels Summer Shootout Series for the DIRTcar Sportsman as they’ll be competing in a 30-lap feature event with $1,000 on the line. The DirtTrackDigest.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds are slated for a 30-lap feature as well along with a 20-lap feature for the Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stock which will be joined by a 15-lap nightcap for the Rookie Sportsman division.

The night’s racing program is the official start of the 2019 points championship chase as all drivers will draw for heat race starting positions coming through the gate. The features for the Modifieds, Pro Stocks and Rookie Sportsman will start heads up based heat race finishes. The VP Racing Fuels Summer Shootout will have a redraw for the top drivers in the main-event to set their feature line-up.

Pit gates open at 3:30pm while spectator gates swinging open at 4pm with the heat races beginning promptly at 6pm for opening night. Adult general admission for the opener is set at $13 with seniors/military members/students 17-18 just $10 while kids 16 and under are free. Again, a $2 discount is being offered to anyone that attended a Saturday night event at another track with their ticket stub. Pit admission for the night is $27 for DIRTcar members and $30 for non-members.
