RPW Exclusive: Deyo’s Short Track Super Series Is Heading To Florida In 2020
Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RACE PRO WEEKLY – During a cold, windy Monday evening following a snow storm, Brett Deyo took to the presses and social media to announce some exciting news for the Short Track Super Series next February. STSS will be heading to Florida in 2020 for an unbelievable weekend event.
From February 5th to the 8th, the Inaugural Sunshine Swing for the Short Track Super Series will be held at the All-Tech Raceway in Lake City, Florida. The ‘Mighty Modifieds’ will play host as the STSS 602 Crate Sportsman will also be in attendance for this first time event.
With practice evening scheduled for Wednesday night February 5th, that would leave the drivers with 3 nights of racing action. Thursday February 6th, the Modifieds will be racing in a 30 lap event for $5,000 to win. Friday night, February 7th, the Modifieds race for 40 laps with the winner taking $7,500. That would all lead to the final night, Saturday night, February 8th, Modified drivers will be racing for $10,000 that would go to the winner in a 50 lap event.
Alongside the Modifieds, the STSS 602 Crate Sportsman will be racing for both $1,250 to win on both Thursday and Friday nights in a 25 lap event. In the final event the Crate Sportsman will be racing for $1,500 to win in a 30 lap event.
With the 2019 season yet to start for a majority of drivers in the Northeast, this early 2020 news gives some more incentive for the future.
