Ever Popular ‘Hondo Classic’ Returning To Fonda In June, 2019
Story By: BRETT DEYO / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – For many seasons at the Fonda Speedway, you could hear the word “Hondooo” ring throughout the Mohawk Valley, as competitor Hondo Carpenter would be making his way through the field and to the front. On July 4, 2005 that same man, full of excitement and living each day to the fullest, passed away tragically.
For 13 years since his passing, dear friends have pushed a race so hard in his honor, that it is now one of the most sought-after victories one could win in the Pro-Stock division. In 2019, the 14th annual Hondo Classic will once again take to the famed Track of Champions as drivers compete in this prestigious event.
June 29th, 2019 is the date to mark on your calendar, and Kelley & Kaitlyn Keefe are already hard at work to make this race bigger and better for the pro-stock competitors. Information and updates about the 2019 Hondo Classic will be released soon.
