Hodnett First To Enter July 3rd’s $7K-To-Win Sprint Speedweek Event At Grandview
Story By: BOB MILLER / THUNDER ON THE HILL – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – The fastest cars on dirt, the 410 Sprint Cars will invade the “hill” for the 24th running of the Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week Series at the Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night, July 3 and Greg Hodnett is an early entry for this event.
Hodnett is a six-time Thunder on the Hill Series Champion and he owns nine Thunder Series feature wins. Hodnett is the only driver to win the Thunder Series Championship over four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015. This always crowd-pleasing doubleheader event is part of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and is presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings. Joining the 410 Sprints will be the popular NASCAR 358 Modifieds competing in qualifying events leading up to the $3,000 to win 30 lap feature that is a NASCAR point race.
In last year’s event, NASCAR driver Kyle Larson made a rare dirt track appearance, his first visit to Grandview Speedway and came home the winner. Expected entries to challenge Hodnett include Freddie Rahmer Jr., Ryan Smith, Danny Dietrich, Alan Krimes, Brandon Rahmer, JJ Grasso, Lucas Wolfe, Brock Zearfoss and Ryan Taylor to name a few.
The Grandview Speed Week event features a 35-lap Sprint Car A-Main — the fifth race of a ten-race stretch for the winged warriors. Drivers from across the region will compete for a $7,000 winner’s share. Tenth place will pay $1,050 with $400 to start the A-main. Non-qualified cars will be rewarded with $125.
