Super DIRTcar Series Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial At Merrittville One Week Away
Story By: JIM IRVINE / MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY – THOROLD, ONT – One week from today we will know the winner of the 8th Annual Bob St. Amand Senior Memorial.
The race on everyone’s racing calendar is Monday August 7th when the Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series returns for the 100 lap Main Event presented by L. St. Amand Enterprises and St. Amand Auto & Truck Repair.
The heart-pounding, high-powered, pedal-mashing entertainment also includes Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series Events for the S&W Service Centre Sportsman, Hoosier Stock and Central Fabricating & Welding 4 Cylinder Divisions
“It’s hard to believe that we’re remembering Bob Sr for the 8th year,” said (Merrittville’s)Don Spiece, “I remember back to when I raced … Bob had the respect of all the drivers and crews – this event is a great memorial to him. What can we say about his family and friends – they have rallied together once again and have quite a spectacle planned.”

When you look back over the history of the event first held in 1972 – the year Bob St. Amand Senior won his Modified Championship … a virtual who’s who of DIRTcar Northeast Modified racing has found success.
