Ryan Smith Scores All Star Victory During Series Debut At Outlaw Speedway
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RYAN SMITH RACING – KUNKLETOWN, PA – Ryan Smith’s 2017 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions campaign hit a season high during his recent trip to the Empire State, scoring a pair of top-ten finishes during starts at Outlaw Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway on July 28-29, respectively.
Smith’s start at Outlaw Speedway, an Arctic Cat All Star debut, resulted in a $5,000 victory; his first Arctic Cat All Star win of the year and his first since 2015. The “Kunkletown Kid” finished ninth at Orange County Fair Speedway, also during an Arctic Cat All Star debut.
“It was a great weekend for our team. To finally get that first All Star win of the season is a big relief. They always say the first one is the hardest to get. Hopefully it won’t take as long to get the second,” Ryan Smith said, pilot of the Tom and Sherry Leidig/Warko Group/Auto Electric of Jupiter, FL/Rick’s Auto Body/Specialty Rigging/No. 59. “We have a few weekends ahead without any All Star commitments. I’m not sure what we have planned, but we are definitely thinking about heading to Mansfield.”
With the Arctic Cat All Star schedule on break until Thursday, August 17, Ryan Smith will support a limited schedule, potentially taking a weekend off from competition on August 4-5, followed by a visit to Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, for the inaugural Great Lakes Dirt Nationals on August 11-12.
With recent results included, Ryan Smith is currently second in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions standings on the strength of 18 top-ten finishes.
