Racing Resumes This Weekend For The Patriot Sprint Tour
Story By: PAUL HARKENRIDER / PATRIOT SPRINT TOUR – DUNDEE, NY – With the All-Star Circuit of Champions 410 Series making its way through New York State, many Patriot Sprint Tour teams were idle this past weekend but are eager to return to racing with events at Outlaw Speedway on Friday, August 4, and Stateline Speedway on Saturday, August 5.
For many years, the Patriots have raced at Outlaw Speedway in conjunction with the NASCAR Cup series being just up the road at Watkins Glen International Speedway. However, new this season is a trip back out West to the Stateline Speedway the very next night in Busti, NY.
The PST- American Series point battle is continuing to take shape for an exciting finish as Jared Zimbardi and Steve Collins are now just separated by 40 points with ten full point events remaining!
Kyle Drum is looking to continue momentum heading into this weekend after a career best second place finish at Woodhull two weeks ago, he currently sits third in points. Jordan Thomas finished third at Outlaw Speedway during the Spring Nationals back in April but has not returned to the podium since that night. The Harding, PA teenager will be looking for revenge going into this weekend.
This will be the third event at Outlaw Speedway this season with Jared Zimbardi and Scott Kreutter picking up the first two events. The Patriots return to Stateline for the second time in 2017 with Zimbardi also taking the win in the first event back in June.
