All Star Sprints Set For Justin Snyder Salute To The Troops At Susquehanna
Story By: BRAD VORES / SUSQUEHANNA SPEEDWAY – YORK HAVEN, PA – Late last fall, Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions announced it would make its first ever appearance at Susquehanna Speedway during the 2017 season.
And that date is just a week away when the traveling series invades the York Haven oval to do battle with the Pennsylvania Posse in the Justin Snyder Salute to the Troops race on Sunday night, August 20.
The race will also serve as the fifth race in the BAPS Coatings and Supplies 410 Sprint Series, where four different winners have visited victory lane in the first four events this season.
Point leader Chad Kemenah will lead the All Stars into Central Pennsylvania along with a contingent of other drivers that will face stiff challenges from the Posse on the racy red clay oval.
The race is run in honor of Justin Snyder, who was a huge race fan and proud retired combat veteran of the U.S. Army. Snyder lost his life in April 2016.
The All Star main will pay $5,000 to win with $500 going to the driver who sets fast time during time trials courtesy of Emory Transmissions. Brown & Miller Racing Solutions will offer a $200 award for the Hard Charger in the main event.
Prior to the season, BAPS announced a unique bonus award for the 410 Sprint Series that will reward three different drivers that support all seven events in 2017. Heading into the fifth event, ten drivers remain on the bonus eligibility list that include 2017 winners Greg Hodnett and Lucas Wolfe as well as Brock Zearfoss, Aaron Ott, Brian Montieth, Kyle Moody, Anthony Macri, Glenndon Forsythe, Kyle Reinhart and Bradley Howard. At the end of the year, $1,000 will go to three drivers for their season-long support of the series.
The Freedmont® Mortgage PASS/IMCA Sprints will join the BAPS 410 Sprints series on the Sunday night racing card.
Pit Gates open at 4:30PM, Grandstands at 5PM with Hot Laps on the track at 6:15PM and time trials beginning at 7PM.
