Western PA Triple On Deck For “Mad Max” Stambaugh
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RAY MARSHALL MOTORSPORTS – ELIDA, OH – After entering Eldora Speedway’s famed Kings Royal for the first time in his career, highlighting the weekend with a B-main start on the final night of competition, “Mad Max” Stambaugh will now return to Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions commitments and join “America’s Series” for the second annual I-79 Summer Shootout on July 21-23; three events in three days at three different facilities.
“We had a great experience at the Kings Royal; an atmosphere unlike nothing else. I hope to be a part of that every year,” Stambaugh explained. “I think we were a lot better than where we finished. We were able to transfer through the ‘C’ and advance some positions in the ‘B’ to finish 14th. To come in there as a Kings Royal rookie and show some promise is really motivating. All we hope to do now is build some momentum on Friday and make this Western PA swing an even better experience.”
The 2017 I-79 Summer Shootout, all of which taking place in Western Pennsylvania, will feature a schedule identical to the inaugural version held in 2016. The Arctic Cat All Stars will visit Eriez Speedway in Erie on Friday evening; Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Imperial on Saturday; and Tri-City Raceway Park near Franklin on Sunday. All three will award a $5,000 top prize, as well as full points toward the Arctic Cat All Star championship.
