Stambaugh Rallies At Pittsburgh; NY All Star Trip Next
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RAY MARSHALL MOTORSPORTS – ELIDA, OH – After an impressive charge from 17th to seventh during I-79 Summer Shootout competition at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, “Mad Max” Stambaugh will now move ahead and prepare himself, as well as the familiar Ray Marshall Motorsports entry, for three consecutive nights of action in New York, joining the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Outlaw Speedway, Orange County Fair Speedway, and Lebanon Valley Speedway on July 28-30, respectively.
Stambaugh, the current Arctic Cat All Star Rookie of the Year point leader, will chase big money during his trip to The Empire State. The three-race campaign will award a total winner’s share exceeding $20,000; $5,000 at Outlaw Speedway, $10,000 at Orange County Fair Speedway, and $7,000 at Lebanon Valley Speedway.
“We were excited about our run at Pittsburgh. All we need to do now is get our qualifying program dialed in a little better,” Stambaugh said, pilot of the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./No. 33M. “All three tracks in New York will be new to me. We are going to do our homework this week and see what we can do to be in the hunt for all three big paydays.”
In addition to his top-ten performance at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Stambaugh and Ray Marshall Motorsports charged from 23rd to 14th at Eriez (PA) Speedway on Friday, July 21. The Elida, Ohio, native has earned five top-ten finishes during Arctic Cat All Star competition in 2017 and currently finds himself fourth in the Series driver standings.
“I can’t thank Ray Marshall and the entire team enough for their support this year,” Stambaugh said. “Most of this tour is brand new to me. I’m learning a lot. Fortunately, Ray is patient and understands how demanding this deal is.”
