Schedule Set For Race Of Champions Weekend At Lake Erie Speedway
Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – NORTH EAST, PA – The schedule for the September 28, 29 and 30 Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania has been set. The schedule includes the running of the 67th Annual “Race of Champions 250” for the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series fueled by Sunoco. The event includes three days filled with racing and festivities.
Thursday, September 28: Practice will take place on Thursday, September 28, with gates opening at 3:00 pm and practice from 4:00 pm until dusk for all divisions. In the evening the Race of Champions and Lake Erie Speedway will host “One Hell of A Racing Party” featuring recording artist Eddie Lee and Closing Time at 8:00 pm. Any person that is in the track pit area and/or grandstand area for practice, prior to the start of the concert, will be able to attend for free. Beginning at 7:30 pm, a $5.00 admission will be in place at the front gate. Eddie Lee and Closing Time have appeared regionally and with the Race of Champions, as well as having a successful European album release.
Friday, September 29; Racing will include the Race of Champions Asphalt Sportsman Modified Series in a 75-lap event that concludes their three-race inaugural season. The Race of Champions Super Stock Series will compete in a 40-lap event that will complete their season and see the Series champion crowned, in addition to the conclusion of the TDH Refrigeration “Cool Performance of the Hottest Races of the Season” championship within a championship.
Saturday, September 30; The featured event will be the running of the 67th Annual “Race of Champions 250” fueled by Sunoco. The event features 250 exciting laps of action for racing enthusiasts and is the second longest consecutive auto-racing event to take place each year in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500. The Race of Champions Asphalt Late Model Series will conclude its season along with support from the highly competitive Lancaster National Speedway Street Stock division. A new addition to the Saturday festivities which will be a 4-Cylinder event.
