Ryan Smith Earns Top-Five During Eldora’s Kings Royal
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RYAN SMITH RACING – KUNKLETOWN, PA – After an impressive performance during the 34 Annual Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway on July 15, advancing 19 positions to score a top-five finish for Coldren Motorsports after having to race through the evening’s Last Chance Showdown, the “Kunkletown Kid” Ryan Smith will now revert his attention back to Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition and prepare for the second ever I-79 Summer Shootout through Western Pennsylvania.
Smith, full-time pilot of the Warko Group/Auto Electric of Jupiter, FL/Rick’s Auto Body/Trent Gower Photography/Specialty Rigging/No. 59, will join the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Friday through Sunday, July 21-23; three races in three days at three different facilities – the final Arctic Cat All Star visit to Western Pennsylvania of 2017.
Each awarding $5,000, the Arctic Cat All Stars will visit Eriez Speedway near Erie on Friday; Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway near Imperial on Saturday; and Tri-City Raceway Park near Franklin on Sunday. Smith will enter the weekend second in the current Arctic Cat All Star championship standings, earning 13 top-ten finishes, five of which inside the top-five, during 23 main event starts.
“First and foremost, I can’t thank everyone enough for making our Kings Royal visit possible,” Ryan Smith explained, who qualified for the Knight Before the Kings Royal A-main, as well. “We had a goal and we were able to accomplish that. We kinda had to do things the hard way on Saturday night and come through the B-main, but it all worked out in the end. The plan is to now transfer that momentum to the ‘59’ team. Tom and Sherry Leidig, Rob Warko, and everyone else involved have been working hard this year. We hope to get that first All Star win of 2017 this weekend.”
