Kyle Larson & Danny Lasoski Set To Run At Ohsweken Monday & Tuesday

Story By: CLAYTON JOHNS / OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY – OHSWEKEN, ONT – Ohsweken Speedway is set to host two of its biggest event sof the season this Monday and Tuesday, July 24 and 25 night as Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson and four-time Knoxville Nationals champion Danny Lasoski are set to tackle the Six Nations 3/8-mile clay oval.

On Monday, July 24 Larson and Lasoski take on Ohsweken’s best Sprint Car drivers in the Burger Barn Northern Summer Nationals for the Kool Kids-Corr/Pak 360 Sprint Cars. Also on the schedule is the prestigious 50-lap Brock Leonard Memorial for the Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks, a full points event for the Stickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars and the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds.

Then, on Tuesday, July 25, Larson and Lasoski will take on the best Sprint Car drivers in the world when the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series rolls into town for the Six Nations Showdown presented by Arrow Express. The 30-lap, $10,000-to-win showdown will pit two of the hottest Sprint Car drivers in the country against the tough Outlaw cast that includes eight-time champion Donny Schatz, rising star David Gravel and the ‘Big Cat’ Brad Sweet as well as mainstays Daryn Pittman, Shane Stewart, Jason Johnson, Kraig Kinser and Sheldon Haudenschild to name a few. Tuesday’s show is also the first round of the DIRTcar Sportsman Series Western Region and the HRW Automotive Mini Stocks will battle in twin 15-lap races.

Larson is one of the hottest Sprint Car drivers in the world right now. The dirt ace turned NASCAR star has beaten the best Sprint Car drivers across the country this season. Larson topped the World of Outlaws at Nebraska’s Eagle Raceway in June, then knocked off the Arctic Car All-Star Circuit of Champions during Ohio Speedweek and followed it up by rattling off four consecutive wins against the Pennsylvania Posse during PA Speedweek. Larson is that good.

“I am really excited to make my first trip to Canada and also to be racing a Sprint Car,” Larson said. “Ohsweken has always produced great racing with multiple lines so it should be fun to try and adapt to the track. Hopefully we can pick up a couple wins while I am there.”

Lasoski is no slouch either. The Dover, Missouri native is a four-time Knoxville Nationals champion, three of which came with Tony Stewart Racing. ‘The Dude’ is a former World of Outlaws regular and once held the Ohsweken qualifying track record until current full-time Outlaw Kraig Kinser knocked it down with a lap of 12.047 seconds on July 30, 2010.

In addition to Larson and Lasoski, several top talents have already confirmed they will be in attendance at Ohsweken for the Northern Summer Nationals. Ohsweken point leader Dylan Westbrook, who has six wins this season, will be in attendance. Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint point leader Jason Barney will also chase the top prize.

Australian star Max Johnston has also made his way north to compete against Ohsweken’s best for Styres Racing. He earned a third-place finish on Friday night in his first night of action behind the wheel of the Styres No.0. Up and coming racer Joe Trenca of Clay, NY has also thrown his name into the ring for both nights of action.
