Kids Night Up Next At Susquehanna Speedway
Story By: BRAD VORES / SUSQUEHANNA SPEEDWAY – YORK HAVEN, PA – It will be all about the Kids next Saturday, August 5th at Susquehanna Speedway.
Kids Night 2017 will feature lots of on and off track activities for the younger generation as Steph Jones has taken over the Kids Night duties and has a big night in store.
“I wanted to bring back what we had at Williams Grove where everything was right there for the kids and they can get around to everything,” Jones said. “I want to get the kids involved because if you look around, you really don’t see a lot of kids in the stands. So hopefully people will come out and bring their kids and we can keep them interested at least for one night.”
It certainly won’t come without a lack of effort.
It will all begin at 3PM when fans can enter the pit area along with their kids, get signed up for raffles (winners will be listed at 530pm outside the pit gate) and bike races and the first 250 kids to sign up will receive a Goody Bag.
From 3pm until 5pm, kids will be able to meet and greet drivers, jump in a Bounce House, enjoy face painting at the Jay Fannasy race car, get a cool ice cream treat at the Rich Eichelberger race car and have a chance to dunk some drivers in the Dunk Tank. Drivers participating in the Dunk Tank will be Garrett Williamson (3-315), Chase Billet (315-330), Kory Sites (330-345), Gregg Foster (345-4), Cameron Benyou (4-415), Dalton Frye (415-430), Troy Hockenberry (430-445) and Susquehanna Speedway General Manager Kolten Gouse will round out the Dunk Tank victims from 445-5.
Another fun event will be drivers in all divisions competing that night (Super Sportsman, 358 Late Models and Street Stocks) will autograph Frisbees when they sign in for the night. Then the Frisbees will be thrown to the kids and kids will want to root for the driver who signed their Frisbee because if that driver wins, the kid will get to go to Victory Lane and get a photo with the winner. LuckyShot Photography will then donate a victory lane photo to that kid with their driver.
Then Kids Night will switch to the race track where Kids Bike races will take place during intermission on the front stretch. There will be four age groups of races and each group winner will take home a trophy while all participants will also take home a consolation prize.
“I cannot thank everybody, the response from teams and sponsors has been overwhelming and I certainly can’t do what I’m doing to do with this night without all of the support from everyone,” Jones added.
