Jersey Rush VII To Try It Again August 23rd At New Egypt
Story By: BOB MILLER / THUNDER ON THE HILL – NEW EGYPT, NJ – After an unexpected rainstorm halted Tuesday’s event, Sammons/Miller Promotions is excited to announce the rescheduling of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Jersey Rush VII to Wednesday, August 23 at New Egypt Speedway.
There is plenty of excitement from the sprint drivers on getting this event rescheduled. The New Egypt Speedway, after much rain three days prior, was in near perfect condition just before the rain began to fall on Tuesday night. The track was fast and smooth during warm-ups with drivers close to the track record.
Greg Hodnett had the fastest time in practice over “Double D” Danny Dietrich with times in the thirteen second bracket. Lucas Wolfe, Davey Sammons, Steve Buckwalter, Dale Blaney, Ryan Smith, Freddie Rahmer, JJ Grasso, Kyle Reinhardt, Bradley Howard, Robbie Stillwaggon, Brandon Rahmer, James McFadden, Mark Bitner and Davie Franek were some of the sprint car drivers in the field.
After closely examining the schedules of other series and events and speaking with competitors, the Jersey Rush promotional team found the most appropriate make-up date available and their excited to get back to New Egypt Speedway on Wednesday night, August 23.
The Jersey Rush redux will offer a fresh start to drivers with a new program from top to bottom. Drivers who couldn’t make the previous date are encouraged to register using the forms online at www.jerseyrushrace.com.
Fans and competitors will be able to turn in their wristbands from the previous date in exchange for a new wristband on Wednesday, August 23.
The Jersey Rush VII will kick-off in traditional fashion with the pre-race driver Meet and Greet in the pit area from 5 PM to 6 PM. Fans may enter the pit area through the gate behind the turn four grandstands.
Racing will kick off at 7:30 PM with full qualifying for the 410 Sprint Car and the Big-Block/Small-Block Modifieds. Time Trials for the Sprint Cars will start the program, followed by qualifying races, and 30-lap feature events for each division.
The 410 Sprint Cars will race for a $5,000 winner’s share, with $1,000 going to the tenth place finisher and $400 to start the A-main. The area’s fastest Sprint Car drivers will compete in 10 lap heat races – set from time trials, and a 12 lap B-Main before the 30 lap main event.
The Modifieds will compete for a $3,000 top prize with $1,000 going to the fifth place finisher and $250 to start the feature event. Modified drivers will draw for heats with an invert of four heading into the qualifying heats. Six cars will qualify with the top-four finishers locked into the redraw.
Oliver Communications Group, a telecommunications cabling company, based in Bordentown, New Jersey, has upped the ante offering $200 bonus money to the winners of the 410 Sprint Car and Modified qualifying heats on Wednesday, August 23.

Adult Admission for Jersey Rush VII is $30, Children (6-11): $10 and Children 5 and under are FREE! Pit admission is $35 with no license required. Pit Gates open at 3:30 PM, Grandstands open at 5:00 PM, the Driver’s Meeting will be at 6:15 PM, Warm-Ups at 7:00 PM and racing at 7:30 PM.
