Jared Miley Earns ULMS Win At Thunder Mountain
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / JARED MILEY RACING – BROOKVILLE, PA – “The Jet” Jared Miley kicked-off his Independence Day weekend in a big way on Friday evening by outperforming the entire ULMS Racing Series super late model field to capture $3,000 at Thunder Mountain (PA) Speedway. The former ULMS Racing Series champion nearly swept competition at the Brookville oval; recording the second fastest time during his group qualifying session, only to finish second during his respective heat race. Miley is now a two-time winner on the season, also claiming a super late model feature win at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.
With Mother Nature causing some uncertainty, Miley’s remaining weekend schedule remains questionable until Monday.
“This was a great way to start our weekend, for sure,” Jared Miley explained. “Our original plan was to race every night this weekend. The forecast looked like it was going to cause some problems during certain parts of the weekend, so we are taking things day by day.”
The only definite plan on Miley’s upcoming schedule is an appearance at Dog Hollow (PA) Speedway on Monday evening, July 3, for the Sam Barley Memorial worth $4,000. “The Jet” is a multi-time winner at the Indiana County oval, most recently scoring the Shawn “Sheetz” McGarvey Memorial in 2016.
During other recent results, “The Jet” represented his home fans proudly during the annual Firecracker 100 at Lernerville (PA) Speedway by scoring a top-ten performance during preliminary competition on Saturday afternoon, June 24. Miley finished seventh during the afternoon matinee, advancing from the outside of row six to earn his first World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series top-ten finish of the season.
Miley went on to qualify for the Firecracker 100 main event later that evening. The Pittsburgh native was scored 22nd, retiring from competition early.
