Williams Grove Kicks Off 27th PA Speedweek Series June 30th
Story By: SHAWN BROUSE / WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY – MECHANICSBURG, PA – Williams Grove Speedway will kickoff the 27th annual Pennsylvania Speedweek Series for 410 sprint cars coming up on Friday, June 30 at 8 pm.
The Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints will compete in time trials, heats and a 25-lap speedweek feature paying $5,000 to win before the series swings back to Williams Grove one week later, on July 7 for the annual Mitch Smith Memorial.
Also racing at Williams Grove on June 24 will be the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprint cars.
Adult general admission for the show is $17 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for $10.
Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for free at Williams Grove Speedway.
The Williams Grove portion of the 50/50 drawing on the night will go to speedweek sponsor Always Racing Ministries.
The June 30 speedweek lidlifter will also be another leg in the 2017 Hoosier Diamond Series of races at the track.
The speedweek opener at Williams Grove was lost to rain last season.
The prestigious Mitch Smith Memorial for sprint cars will be the highlight of PA Speedweek when it is spun off at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 7.
The biggest show of the series again in 2017, the Mitch Smith Memorial pays $10,000 to win a 30-lap feature, offering a total purse worth nearly $37,000.
July 14 offers a World of Outlaws tune-up event for the 410 sprints along with the 358 sprint cars in action.
The K1 RaceGear Summer Series event for 358 sprints that was rained out on June 23 has been rescheduled for the July 14 racing program.
