Trenca Venturing To Outlaw & Selinsgrove This Weekend With Patriots
Story By: SHAWN MILLER / MUCCI MOTORSPORTS – CLAY, NY – Joe Trenca is seeking a pair of strong performances this weekend to climb back into the race for the Patriot Sprint Tour American championship.
The Mucci Motorsports driver will compete with the series this Friday at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., and Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa.
“It should be a fun weekend,” he said. “Those are two tracks I like that suit my style. Hopefully we can get two top fives to get ourselves back in the points battle.”
Trenca placed eighth at Outlaw Speedway in April to give him a top-10 finish at the track three years in a row.
“I’m excited about Outlaw Speedway because we always run good there,” he said. “We’ve had top 10s there the last three times we’ve been there. It’s been decent. It’s a cool track. I’ve heard it’s slicking off with something to lean on up top so that will be great.”
Trenca will make his season debut at Selinsgrove Speedway, where he competed three times last season with a season-best result of 11th.
“That’s a place I really love,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of ups and downs there, but we always seem to be fast.”
Trenca enters this weekend ranked third in the Patriot Sprint Tour American championship standings – only 38 points out of second place.
