Stambaugh Scores Top-Ten At Muskingum During OH Sprint Speedweek
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / RAY MARSHALL MOTORSPORTS – ELIDA, OH – Max Stambaugh’s first-ever Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket campaign proved to be a success, only padding his path toward Rookie of the Year honors with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. “Mad Max” earned main event starts during all six contested programs, finishing as high as ninth in the running order during competition at Muskingum County Speedway on Thursday, June 22. It was Stambaugh’s third top-ten finish of the season, all aboard the Ray Marshall Motorsports/Buckeye Machine Fabricators, Inc./Fastenal of Kenton/No. 33M.
On top of his top-ten performance during Ohio Sprint Speedweek, Stambaugh finished 23rd at Eldora Speedway, 13th at Wayne County Speedway, 12th at Sharon Speedway, 17th at Waynesfield Raceway Park, and 14th at Atomic Speedway during the Ohio Sprint Speedweek finale. The Elida, Ohio, native finished eighth in the final Speedweek championship standings; one of 24 drivers to enter each and every Ohio Sprint Speedweek program.
“I can’t say enough about this team. We are having a great season. I can’t thank Ray and the entire gang enough for standing behind me and allowing me to live out my dream,” Stambaugh explained. “We’ve been racing well. Ray provides me with the equipment necessary to be competitive, and I am more than appreciative of his support. Our first win is coming soon. I hope to accomplish that feat a few times before the end of the season.”
Max Stambaugh’s rookie campaign with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue on Friday and Saturday, June 30 and July 1, with visits to Kokomo (IN) Speedway and Wayne County (OH) Speedway. “Mad Max” will enter the weekend fifth in the Arctic Cat All Star championship standings, qualifying for 19 of the 23 main events, earning three top-ten finishes in the process.
