RPW’s “Hot Mic” With Joey Payne

Column By: RYAN HILL / RPW – STAFFORD, CT – The “Jerzey Jet” Joey Payne started the night 12th in his Penix/Payne Supermodified at Stafford Motor Speedway Friday night. It was an eventful night for Joey and he had this to say about the night.
Hear from Joey in the innagural RPW exclusive “Hot Mic” where you hear directly from the drivers, the good the bad and the ugly.

“In time trials we adjusted the car more with a spring change, and adjusting the nose wing angle. We ended up with a 5th place.”

“In the feature we cut some stagger, and moved the top wing forward and we had a decent car. Unfortunately, the dirty air under the wing sucked my headrest off on lap 15making it tough on me, as my neck muscles gave up half way through the feature. “

“We are one of the few teams doing the triple crown series with the same car… Oswego and ISMA. It is tough because the ISMA guys have a 100HP advantage on us, but we are gaining on the car. My Performance Technology Engine will be shipped from California in the next few weeks to make us even with some big steam!!!”

This week Joey will be switching the car back to a non wing Oswego car for the Oswego Grand Prix 75 lapper, and thanks his marketing partners for their continued support: NH3PLUS, Waddell Communication, Dave Shore Fuels, Dirty Jersey Posse, Blue Cord Media, and his crew for their hard work and dedication.
