Marks Scores Top 10, Hard Charger Award At River Cities Speedway
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – GRAND FORKS, ND – Resulting in the ninth top-ten finish of his World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year campaign, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks made his River Cities (ND) Speedway debut on June 16 one to remember; charging forward from 21st on the feature grid to finish eighth, earning the KSE Hard Charger Award in the process.
Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19, had to earn his way into the River Cities Speedway main event the hard way, winning the evening’s Last Chance Showdown after finishing sixth during heat race competition.
“The night didn’t start off too well, but we fixed that in a hurry and got moving well in the ‘A,’” Brent Marks explained. “This just goes to show how strong of a mentality my team has. We never give up; constantly working to improve, even if we are halfway through a night of racing. Hopefully we can make this momentum work the rest of the month and score more top-ten finishes before returning home in mid-July.”
Other recent results include finishing 14th on Tuesday, June 13, at the Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska.
Brent Marks will continue his 2017 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year campaign with three more events in five days, this time visiting Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, June 20, 23, 24, respectively. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native will visit Granite City (MN) Speedway, West Liberty (IA) Raceway and Beaver Dam (WI) Raceway.
