Column: Adam Turner Straps Into A Dirt Late Model For 2021 Local Racing Season

Column By: JIM CLARKE / ADAM TURNER RACING – PICTON, ONT – He’s earned a reputation as one of the most versatile short track racers in the area.

Through his career spanning more than 20 years, Adam Turner has piloted Street Stock, Sportsman-Mod, 358 Modified and Late Model equipment at several different tracks including Brighton, Brockville, Cornwall and Mohawk International Speedway.

When the 2021 schedule gets rolling, the father of 3 from Picton, Ontario will return to the weekly Late Model wars at Brighton Speedway.

“Some of my best runs in the sport have come in a Late Model,” admitted the driver, who’s win in a thrilling side-by-side 2016 battle is a featured video on www.facebook.com/Brighton-Speedway-Memories. “It was also great to take the checkered flag in the 2019 edition of the Great Crate Race, in front of the hometown crowd at Brighton while wheeling the No. 12 ride in place of Kyle Sopaz.”

While many racers suffered through an abbreviated 2020 schedule because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Adam Turner had some strong shows in his No. 92 Street Stock – a car that he also plans to campaign weekly at Brighton this season – winning the Northeast Fall Nationals at Brockville. The likeable second-generation speedster also scored the top spot during his maiden Vintage Modified start in Brian Billings’ No. 3 machine during the season finale at The BOS.

“I’m really looking forward to the start of the season and I’m sure we’ll be a contender when the green flag flies.” said Adam Turner. “This year, we’ve formed an alliance with John Golka at KD Transmissions in Belleville. Even though John’s passion is drag racing, he’s been a good friend and sponsor to the oval track guys over the years. His knowledge and experience will be a real asset to our program.”

With behind the scenes and trackside support from Robert Pounder, Jeffrey Holmes and Ashton Storms the Adam Turner Racing No. 92 Pro Late Model and Thunder Stock teams will be backed by Village Variety & Gas Bar, KD Transmissions, The Work Gear, Dirt Outlaw Apparel, Lots & Lines Traffic Line Markings, Gates Graphics, Paul Turner Auto Repair, Stormy’s Car Sales, Angie’s Pooper Pumping Septic Service, Red Stallion – Aaron Tompkins, RPM Property Management, Mark’s County Chips, Showtime Motorsports and Clarke Motorsports Communications. Adam Turner also appreciates the encouragement of his No. 1 fan Adam Brandt.
