Back-To-Back Top Five Finishes At Port Royal & Selinsgrove For Danny Dietrich Last Weekend
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / GARY KAUFFMAN RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Despite being dealt a “DNF” at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich rebounded big during the remainder of his weekend schedule and eventually translated two consecutive starts into a pair of top-five finishes, highlighting his campaign in Posse Country with a fourth-place outcome during the Ray Tilley Classic at Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday, April 25.
Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car, was in a position for victory during the $5,088-to-win showstopper, but his slide job attempt over eventual winner, Brent Marks, on lap 22 did not stick, ultimately fading to fourth before the end of the 30-lapper. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native kicked-off the evening with the fastest time during qualifying time trials, as well as a heat race win.
One night prior, Dietrich put on an impressive rally from 11th to finish fifth at Port Royal Speedway; a one spot improvement from his Keith Kauffman Classic result on April 17.
“It feels good to put together a solid weekend,” Danny Dietrich said. “There’s a lot of money on the line in May, so if we had to pick a time to get hot and build momentum, it would be now. I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work this season. We’ve been dealt just about everything so far this year, but the guys keep working and keep moving forward. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with another tripleheader in the Keystone State, this time setting aim on Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, and BAPS Motor Speedway on April 30 through May 2, respectively.
