Port Royal Speedway Postpones 79th Annual Opening Day Until Saturday March 13th
Story By: JUSTIN SNYDER / PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY – PORT ROYAL, PA – As a result of the feedback we have been receiving from the drivers, owners and motor manufacturers and taking into consideration the fans, we have made the decision to cancel this weekend’s Sunday, March 7, 79th annual opening day racing activities at Port Royal Speedway, due to anticipated cold weather and high winds.
Speedway officials and the track promotion team have been monitoring the weather throughout the week and after much deliberation, decided it was in the best intertest of all parties involved to delay racing for another week.
As a result, we will hold a test and tune session on Friday, March 12, that is open to all divisions. It will be from 6-9pm EST and is $25 for pit passes with free general admission for fans.
Opening day will now be held on Saturday, March 13, and it will again feature the Weikert’s Livestock 410 sprint cars racing for $5000 to win and the river Valley Builders super late models racing for $3000 to win.
General Admission will again be $20, Students will be $10 and Pit Admission will be $30.
We thank you for your continued cooperation and enthusiasm and we look forward to seeing everyone next weekend as we kick off the 2021 racing season. Please stay tuned to our website and various social media outlets for further updates throughout the week.
