Fonda Speedway Car Show Less Than A Week Away At Via Port Rotterdam Mall

Story By: RON SZCZERBA / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – On Friday, March 26 through Sunday, March 28, the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway, managed by BD Motorsports Media LLC, will present their 2021 Car Show at the Via Port Rotterdam Mall.

Move in will be on Thursday, March 25 after mall hours and move out will be on Sunday evening when the mall closes.

According to the Via Port website, regular mall hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The car show is a great way for your race team to show off their equipment for the 2021 season whether it be a totally new race car, a new paint scheme, or new sponsors who have come on board to support your racing endeavors. And you just never know when a local businessman or a person just walking by will notice your race car and you may gain a new sponsor out of it.

With the COVID 19 pandemic still affecting the country, the Via Port Rotterdam Mall released their restrictions for the 2021 Fonda Speedway Race Car Show to speedway management in early March. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 version of the car show is extremely limited by New York State. However, speedway management feels that going on with the show, albeit smaller than usual, is for the betterment of the track and the sport. Please understand that speedway management would love to have every race car possible in the mall, but the following guidelines must be followed.

With that said it was decided that the following criteria would be accepted:

Seven cars each from the Sunoco Modified, Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman, Algonkin Motel Pro Stock and Montgomery County Office for Aging Limited Sportsman would be allowed in the show along with the 2020 Street Stock Division Champion, three cars from the Four Cylinder Cruiser division, and three cars from the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series.

Cars will be accepted based on their position in the final 2020-point standings. Track management feels that this is the most straight-up method to include competitors in the show. If you would like to reach out to the speedway to see if there is any room left in the show for your racecar you can contact Angela Hanson at fondaspeedwayangela@gmail.com.

The Fonda Speedway will also have a table set up at the show where you can purchase your pit and grandstand passes for the 2021 racing season along with some Fonda Speedway apparel! Brett Deyo and his team at BD Motorsports Media LLC would like to thank you in advance for your support of the car show and the Fonda Speedway and for understanding the guidelines for the car show that must be followed.
