Virginia Motor Speedway Releases 2021 Racing Season Schedule Of Events
Story By: DAVE SEAY / VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY – JAMAICA, VA – After a very disappointing 2020 due to COVID restrictions, Virginia Motor Speedway officials are excited to release the 2021 schedule and announce the return of racing. It will mark the 52nd season of action at the ½ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA.
“To say we are excited about getting back to racing would be an understatement. We are making changes to keep our competitors are fans safe on a race night, to include hand sanitization stations spread throughout the facility, and enhanced cleaning methods,” commented track owner Bill Sawyer.
The schedule includes eleven (11) nights of weekly racing action, the return of 410 sprint cars with the April 15th Thursday Night Thunder featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions and Tony Stewart, two Ultimate Super Late Model sanctioned events – the May 15th $20,000 to win Virginia is for Racing Lovers King of the Commonwealth and the August 7th $20,000 to win 45th Annual Ernie Shelton’s USA 100; the August 21st $3000 to win Prelude to the World Championship for FASTRAK Pro Late Models, the return of the FASTRAK World Championship weekend paying $25,000 to win, and two mud bogs at the facilities state-of-the-art 200 mud bog pit.
The 2021 season will open on Saturday, April 3rd, with Dirt Series Championship weekly racing action featuring a full program that will include the Victory Lap Pro Late Model, Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified, and Collision One Limited Stock divisions.
The Dirt Series Champion weekly racing season will conclude on Saturday, September 4th, with the crowning of the speedway’s champions in each division.
