RPW Column: Another Checked Off; Daniel Sanchez To Take On “The Last Great Colosseum”

Column By: DANIEL SANCHEZ / RPW – BRISTOL, TN – It’s B-B-B-B-Bristol, baby!!!!

I am excited to announce that we will be participating in the Bristol Dirt Nationals.

The dates are March 15th to the 20th. We will be racing in the Open Modified class. This class consists of USRA, IMCA, WISSOTA, and UMP modifieds.

Some may call it a challenge to see what series has the fastest cars and best drivers.

I know the level of experience I race against every week, no matter what track we are at. I am glad to be on Team UMP. I am confident that the Silly’s Competition Engines 463 will be competitive.

With a background mixed with Lebanon Valley Speedway and Eldora Speedway, we may be one of the few cars in the field who have experienced the high speeds of a high banked track. I fully understand Bristol is a different animal. That being said, we are checking and double checking all of our safety equipment and trying to find weak links in the car.

Our Kryptonite modified will be fully equipped with Out-Pace Racing Products. We are changing all of our rod ends from steel to moly for a stronger linkage between mounting points. I work at Out-Pace and I know several other drivers who are making the change from steel to moly rod ends.

I cannot encourage drivers and teams enough to at least buy new steel rod ends if they do not want to switch to moly ones. Safety should be top of mind and once you hit the track, that is when winning will take priority knowing full well your safety equipment is top notch.

Thankfully for our great sponsors, we will be well prepared to take on the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway. I am beyond grateful for all of my sponsors and supporters. Thank you to each and every one of you.

I always have high hopes for a race season, but I truly believe 2021 will be special. January 1st we are planning to be at 411 Speedway in Tennessee. In February, we will be in Florida for Speedweeks at Volusia Speedway. In March, we head to Bristol, In April, there will be another trip to Bristol if all goes as planned with the DIRTcar UMP modifieds.

In addition, I have opportunities in a late model and a NE Pro Stock to race in other parts of the country. I am actively working to get an IMCA modified for the new Close Racing Supply NY Penn IMCA Series promoted by my buddy Jake Maynard.

Another tour we want to take on is the Renegades of Dirt through the Midwest. We still plan to race at Eldora and a new track for us, Fairbury in Illinois, as much as we can. Yes, that is A LOT of racing. We’re ready!!!!
