Column: Jarrett Herbison To Add Part-Time 358-Modified Effort During ’21 Season
Column By: TIM BALTZ / BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY – BROCKVILLE, ONT – Since his career began in the go kart ranks several seasons ago Jarrett Herbison has been a force in the region.
From his many wins and championships in the karting ranks, to his recent success in the DIRTcar Sportsman ranks, it brought the attention of a sponsor, which will help propel the young driver to the next level of his racing career.
Brent Karel from Limestone Limousine has come on board recently with the Herbison racing team and will join Herbison as car owners for select 358 Modified events for during the 2021 season, while he also continues the pursuit of joining his father Chris as a Sportsman track champion at the Brockville Ontario Speedway Saturday nights. Karel added that Jarrett has a bright future in the sport and look forward to his debut in the Modified on a part time basis as we prepare and learn before we go at it full time in 2022.
In the pandemic shortened 2020 season Herbison added to his career win total with a win at the Cornwall Motor Speedway on July 25th. One week later the hard charger from Brockville added a second checkered flag of the year at the Brockville Ontario Speedway. Herbison also had a solid performance in the TAS Racing Sportsman Series at Cornwall finishing 5th in points. He scored three top five finishes including his best career series finish of 2nd in the series opener on September 6th.
Just when the newly formed Bandit Racing Team will make its 358 Modified debut next season has not been decided at the present time and the team is hoping to land more sponsorship to run special 358 Modified shows following the regular season in 2021. With his father Chris still active and winning races in the 358 ranks, you can bet that all eyes will be on the popular father/son combination, as Jarrett rolls onto the speedway in his first event, next year.
