Octoberfest III To Crown Weedsport Kartway Champions This Coming Weekend

Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT KARTWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – Weedsport Kartway will round out its 2020 season on October 17-18 with Octoberfest III at The Short Port.

The two-day event will feature the final two point events of the season along with a total of six PRO events spread across two days of action.

Saturday’s action will be highlighted with eight point paying main events for Jr. Red Clone, Jr. Green Clone, Jr. Purple Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Jr. Unrestricted, Clone Light, Clone Heavy and Clone Super Heavy. The afternoon will finish with a $300 to win PRO Blue Clone special, a $1,000 to win PRO Clone 360 main and the $500 to win Burris Racing Tire New York State Clone Invitational.

Sunday’s format will see all eight point classes finish their season capped off with a $500 to win PRO Jr. Unrestricted feature, a $500 to win PRO Clone Super Heavy main and the $2,000 to win PRO Clone 360 Octoberfest 40 special.

Current championship point leaders include Levi Herriven (Jr. Red Clone), Ayden Silvernail (Jr. Green Clone), Parker Allen (Jr. Purple Clone), Seth Whitney (Jr. Blue Clone), Logan Crisafulli (Jr. Unrestricted), Thomas Montgomery (Clone Light), Richard Murtaugh (Clone Heavy) and Nick McGill (Clone Super Heavy).

Pre-Registration for both days of racing is available under the TICKETS tab at www.weedsportspeedway.com. Those that Pre-Register will save $10 on entry fees. Junior drivers that have not already done so in 2020, must submit proof of age to info@weedsportspeedway.com.

Single or two-day pit passes will be available at the Kartway’s main pit window.

Member driver pit admission is $15 (two-day $25), with Non-Member driver pit admission priced at $20 (two-day $35). Non-Driver pit prices are $25 (two-day $45). No spectators will be permitted for this event.

Weedsport Kartway will follow CDC guidelines and recommendations, including social distancing. Face coverings are required when unable to maintain six feet of social distance.

Upon arrival, temperatures will be taken prior to pit passes being purchased.

Concession stands will be open with a limited menu.

All classes follow AKRA clone engine guidelines. Burris 33a tires are mandatory. Those competing in the NYS Clone Invitational must run the same set of tires in qualifying and racing action.

Fuel must be purchased from the Pit Stop Convenience Store located at 2737 Erie Dr. in Weedsport.

AMB transponders are mandatory to be scored with Raceceiver one-way radios also mandatory.

Pit gates are scheduled to open both days at 8:30 a.m. with practice slated for 11 a.m. and time trials to follow.
