Danny Dietrich Reaches Double-Digit Wins; Four-Race Labor Day Weekend On Deck

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / GARY KAUFFMAN RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Officially reaching the double-digit win mark, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich captured his tenth victory of the 2020 season over the recent weekend, scoring a $5,000 payday during All Star Circuit of Champions competition at Grandview Speedway on Thursday, August 27.

Accomplished in dramatic fashion, to say the least, Dietrich’s winning move at Grandview occurred on the final lap, as contact between himself and race leader, Aaron Reutzel, resulted in Dietrich inheriting the top spot. The Gettysburg-native held on during the ensuing restart and now owns two All Star victories in 2020.

After a Friday night rain-out at Williams Grove Speedway, Dietrich’s recent weekend continued with All Star starts at Lincoln Speedway and Bedford Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, August 29-30.

On the path toward a second All Star victory in as many starts, Dietrich made contact with a lapped car while making a bid for the lead at Lincoln, ultimately causing the former track champion to lose the handle. Despite getting sent to the tail for completing a 360-degree spin, Dietrich recovered in fantastic fashion and finished sixth.

Dietrich eventually capped his weekend with a runner-up finish at Bedford Speedway, leading the first two laps before losing the top spot to eventual winner, Aaron Reutzel, after a restart with two laps recorded.

“That was a wild weekend, but we’re pumped to get the win at Grandview,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car. “The month of September is going to be big. We have the opportunity to race for a lot of money right in our own backyard. We hope to put ourselves in great positions every night and contend for a win every time we are on the track.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will aim their focus on four events in four days during the coming weekend, set to visit Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, Selinsgrove Speedway, and Port Royal Speedway in consecutive fashion on Friday through Sunday, September 4-7. The weekend will cap with Port Royal Speedway’s historic Labor Day Classic awarding a $4,000 payday.
