Brock Zearfoss Grabs Two Runner-Up Performances Over Labor Day Weekend In PA
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Despite a relatively slow start to his long holiday weekend, finishing ninth at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 4, before getting caught up in a mess during the fair opener at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, September 5, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss picked up the pace on Sunday and Monday and recorded back-to-back podium performances, finishing second on each occasion.
Zearfoss, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., BAPS Auto Paints & Supply, Meckley’s Limestone Products, Berkebile Oil Company, Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, X-1 Race Cars, No. 3Z sprint car, earned his first runner-up result of the weekend during a visit to Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday, September 6, charging ahead from eighth on the grid and doing so with no power steering during the final 12 laps. Impressive enough, the 30-lap contest went off without a caution.
Zearfoss’ second runner-up result of the weekend occurred during Port Royal Speedway’s annual Labor Day Classic on Monday, September 7. The former Port Royal track champion started fifth on the afternoon grid and pressured eventual winner, Anthony Macri, late, but unfortunately, time ran short.
“We had a great car all weekend. Hats off to this entire team. We have a lot of speed heading into Port’s Tuscarora and that’s most important right now. We have that one circled, for sure,” Brock Zearfoss said, who owns two sprint car victories in 2020 including one against the All Star Circuit of Champions. “Our goal right now is to be a force all weekend. We want that big payday on Saturday night and I’m more than confident Tye and Shane will give me a car that’s plenty capable of producing a win. I’m excited to get started.”
Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2020 campaign with three days of All Star Circuit of Champions competition at Port Royal Speedway on Thursday through Saturday, September 10-12. The 53rd annual Tuscarora 50 is on the weekend agenda, capped off with a 50-lap, $53,000-to-win main event on Saturday evening. The three-day visit will blast off with a pair of $6,000-to-win preliminary main events on Thursday and Friday.
