Brock Zearfoss Nails Down Top-Fives At The Port & BAPS; All Star Invasion Looms
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Three feature starts resulted in a pair of top-five finishes for the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss, highlighting his weekend outing with a podium result at BAPS Motor Speedway on Sunday evening, August 23.
Lining up third by way of feature redraw, Zearfoss found himself in an intense battle for the lead, nearly overtaking Danny Dietrich and Tyler Ross, the eventual BAPS Motor Speedway main event winner, in the process. A heat race victory sealed Zearfoss’ place in the feature redraw.
One night prior, the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native made his return to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace,” joining the field for not only weekly action, but also the Dream Race make-up. Despite finishing 12th during Port’s regularly scheduled program, the former Port Royal Speedway track champion did big things during the annual Dream Race and finished fifth, maintaining a spot in the top-five after starting second on the grid.
With all weekend results considered, Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing now own 32 top-ten finishes in 2020, two of which equalling victories.
“It was a solid weekend for our team. It feels good to be back in Pennsylvania,” Brock Zearfoss said, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., BAPS Auto Paints & Supply, Meckley’s Limestone Products, Berkebile Oil Company, Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, X-1 Race Cars, Bruce’s Speed Shop, No. 3Z sprint car. “Getting to work out of your own shop plays a big advantage. We have a big weekend ahead with the All Star Circuit of Champions. It will be fun to race with those guys again. Hopefully we can put ourselves in a good position and contend for a few wins in front of our fans and partners.”
Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will join the All Star Circuit of Champions on four consecutive occasions during the coming weekend, first visiting Grandview Speedway on Thursday, followed by stops at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, Lincoln Speedway on Saturday and Bedford Speedway on Sunday. Williams Grove’s format will feature twin 20-lappers awarding $4,000 each. The Kramer Williamson Klash at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway will award $7,300.
