Story By: ERNIE SAXTON / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – With just five laps to go in the 30-lap T.P.Trailers NASCAR Modified race Brett Kressley took the top spot and lead the rest of the way to win his third Modified feature of the season at Grandview Speedway.

Rain showers delayed the racing action early in the evening.

Second spot went to Mike Gular. Finishing third was Eric Biehn followed by Ryan Lilick and Doug Manmiller.

Veteran racer Ryan Beltz drove to his fifth career T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman 25-lap feature victory and became the 10th different feature winner of the season in that division. Second spot was earned by Tom Miller.

Third place was Steve Young with Derrick Smith and Kenny Bock following.

Eric Whitby won the Xcel 600 Modified 15-Lap feature as the group made their only appearance of the season. Jon Josko earned a second place finish.

Coming home third was Corey Sechrist followed by Matt Warner and Ty Hoke.

All interest now turns to Saturday, September 5, when the first “HARD CHARGER CHALLENGE” is presented along with the T.P.Trailers NASCAR Modifieds and T.P.Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman, part of the Advance Auto Parts Racing Series featuring speedways across the nation.

The Challenge, created by car owner Joe Fanelli, will have Modified racers not in the top 15 Modified point standings as of August 29, have run in at least 3 races this season and have never won a Modified race at Grandview, racing in a 22-lap feature race that will reward the winner with a $1,022 check created by Joey Adams plus other awards.

Second and third spots will offer cash prizes. Additional awards are available to others.

Taking place right after the national anthem the top prize will be a last place starting position in the Modified feature race. However the winner can also choose to run in a qualifying heat race in an effort to improve their feature starting position.

For additional “Challenge” information reach out to 2geezer2@gamil.com or telephone 610.389.1184.

Once the “Challenge” is complete qualifying events for the Modifieds and Sportsman will be presented with the best finishers moving on to the 30-lap feature for Modifieds and 25-lap feature for the Sportsman.
