Weedsport Kartway’s Super Kart Series Opens On July 12

Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT SPEEDWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – Weedsport Kartway’s Super Kart Series will open on Sunday, July 12, featuring eight point classes as well as a $250 to win PRO Jr. Unrestricted main and a $1,000 to win PRO Clone 360 special.

The Super Kart Series opener comes just two weeks following a special non-point Summer Fun Run at Weedsport, which saw multiple competitors in action. Now, points will be on the line with leather jackets once again up for grabs for all series champions.

Pre-Registration is now open through the Tickets tab at www.weedsportspeedway.com. Pre-Entry fees for point classes are $40 with Pre-Entry for PRO Jr. Unrestricted set at $50 and PRO Clone 360 set at $65.

Pre-Registration closes on Saturday, July 11 at 11:45 a.m. Those that Pre-Register will save $10 on entry fees. Junior drivers that have not already done so in 2020, must submit proof of age to info@weedsportspeedway.com.

Weedsport Kartway will follow CDC guidelines and recommendations, including social distancing. Face coverings are required when unable to maintain six feet of social distance.

Upon arrival, temperatures will be taken prior to pit passes being purchased.

Concession stands will be open with a limited menu. New in 2020, orders can be made online for pick-up.

Member driver pit admission is just $10, with Non-Member driver pit admission priced at $15. Non-Driver pit prices are $20. No spectators will be permitted for this event.

Point classes include Jr. Red Clone, Jr. Green Clone, Jr. Purple Clone, Jr. Blue Clone, Jr. Unrestricted, Clone Light, Clone Heavy and Clone Super Heavy.

All classes follow AKRA clone engine guidelines. Burris 33a tires are mandatory.

Fuel must be purchased from the Pit Stop Convenience Store located at 2737 Erie Dr. in Weedsport.

AMB transponders are mandatory to be scored with Raceceiver one-way radios also mandatory.

Pit gates are scheduled to open at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 12 with practice slated for 11 a.m. and time trials to follow.

In order to receive points, drivers must be a Weedsport Kartway Member. Membership can be purchased online through the Tickets tab at www.weedsportspeedway.com.
