SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES LIMITED SPORTSMAN DIVISION FOR 2020

With the FX Caprara Honda-Sportsman division averaging 49 competitors weekly, track owner Tyler Bartlett has announced the formation of a Limited Sportsman class at Can-Am Speedway.

The Limited Sportsman will be for those new to Sportsman racing or those looking to get some more experience in the open wheel cars, before taking to the track against some of the best DIRTcar Sportsman drivers in the Northeast.

Bartlett said “we have had great support in 2020 in our Sportsman class and some of those drivers are new, so hopefully this will give them the opportunity to get some valuable track time without having to race against drivers with years of experience.”

The Limited Sportsman will follow DIRTcar rules and will compete in heats and feature weekly. All competitors will need to be approved by Can-Am Speedway management. Those competing in the Limited Sportsman division will not be allowed to compete with the regular Sportsman on the same night.

Once a driver moves up, they will not be allowed to move back down. Plans are to have the Limited Sportsman the final feature of the night, so regular FX Caprara Honda-Sportsman teams can give someone the opportunity to get on the track and experience the thrill and excitement of dirt track racing.

The Limited Sportsman will be added to the weekly program. Anyone with questions on eligibility should message the track on our Facebook page.
