Tony Stewart Closes Weekend At Park Jefferson With Top-5 Against All Stars & IRA

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TONY STEWART RACING – BROWNSBURG, IN – Although a disappointing start to his weekend at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, South Dakota, forced to compete in Friday evening’s All Star Circuit of Champions B-Main before finishing 15th during main event competition, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Tony Stewart, picked up the pace on Saturday evening and finished fourth against the traveling All Stars.

It was Smoke’s sixth top-five of the season in nine feature starts.

Stewart, who started on the pole on Saturday evening after earning his respective heat race and dash victories, led the first six circuits before surrendering the top spot to Cory Eliason. The pilot of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Mobil 1/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Carquest/TechNet Professional Automotive Service/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Absolute Automation & Security/Digital Ally/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car actually regained command for a single circuit just before halfway, but was once again forced to surrender, this time to eventual winner, Austin McCarl. A winning threat the remaining distance, Stewart drove on to finish fourth.

The Columbus, Indiana-native was forced to participate in Friday evening’s B-Main after finishing fifth in his respective heat race; only the top-four cars made feature transfer positions. Forty-three All Star and IRA sprint cars made the call on Friday and 42 entered action on Saturday.

Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their tour of the central time zone with a visit to Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma, on Thursday, June 4, officially commencing the 2020 edition of Cometic Gasket Thunder Through The Plains presented by Hercules Tires. The Lawton visit will kick-off three straight days of action in the Sooner State with stops at Red Dirt Raceway and Outlaw Motor Speedway to follow, respectively.
