CRSA Sprints Opener At Thunder Mountain Postponed, Now Set For July 4th At Fonda
Story By: TOBY LAGRANGE / CRSA – SODUS, NY – The SuperGen Products with Champion Power Equipment CRSA Sprint Car Series is eager to get the 2020 racing season under way however the season opener will have to wait just a little longer.
Following a discussion with Karl and Sara Spoonhower of the Thunder Mountain Speedway, the scheduled event for Saturday June 20th has been postponed.
Both the Spoonhower’s and CRSA management mutually agreed that it would be in the best interest for everyone that the event be pushed back a little bit on the season schedule. The new date for the event will be Saturday August 15th. This sets up a two-event weekend as the series makes scheduled stop number three at the Fonda Speedway the night before.
The 2020 season opener is now set for the Fonda Speedway on Saturday, July 4th.
While the CRSA Series will not see the green flag until Independence Day, the CRSA sanctioned 305 Sprint Car division competes weekly at the Land of Legends Raceway. Paul Cole, the promoter of the Ontario County Fairgrounds oval and owner of the CRSA title sponsor SuperGen Products has added the 305 Sprint Car division to the Saturday night June 20th program. The division originally had the night off.
An enhanced purse structure will be presented for the June 20th event, which will not be a part of the series. The event will pay $400 to the race winner with $300 for second and $125 to start.
