Short Track Super Series’ “Return to Racing” Includes Race At Cherokee Speedway May 23rd

Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – GAFFNEY, SC – The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco journey south on Memorial Day weekend has expanded.

Following back-to-back events on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22 at Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, N.C., the STSS Modifieds will roll into Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., on Saturday, May 23.

The STSS “Return to Racing” brings the STSS brand south to the Carolinas for the first time in series history. All three events will be broadcast live on Dirt Track Digest TV exclusively.

The Saturday event at Cherokee – The Place Your Mama Warned You About – features a 40-lap, $4,000-to-win STSS Modified event that is open to all big-block/small-block Modified competitors wishing to take part. This is not an invitational event.

Rules will mirror the events at Tri-County with one exception: a 53 option American Racer right-rear will be permitted. Heat races will be set by a draw for position.

Support divisions will be announced on Saturday for this event.

All three events will go live on Dirt Track Digest at 7 p.m. Racing gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
