Brock Zearfoss’ Rolling West; Scheduled To Race Saturday At Park Jefferson Int’l Speedway
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD – Brock Zearfoss’ 2020 campaign was given the green light once again, and although competition is still on hold in much of the country, Park Jefferson International Speedway in North Sioux City, South Dakota, was granted permission to contest action and that is exactly where the ‘Jonestown Jet’ is heading.
Slated for Saturday, April 25, Zearfoss, driver of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./C&D Rigging Inc./BAPS Auto Paints & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/Klick Lewis Cars/No. 3Z sprint car, will participate in the Open Wheel Nationals during his visit to the Mount Rushmore State, joining some of the nation’s elite including fellow full-time All Star Aaron Reutzel. The maximum 32-car field will battle for a $5,000 top prize.
Despite the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Open Wheel Nationals event promoters and Park Jefferson track officials have taken the proper steps to meet South Dakota’s current guidelines pertaining to event gatherings.
“We are ready to race,” Brock Zearfoss said, who owns seven top-ten finishes thus far in 2020. “We weren’t exactly sure if we were up for the trip when the event was initially announced, but after further consideration, we decided to commit ourselves and make the trip to South Dakota.
“We’re definitely excited, that’s for sure. We were glad (Park Jefferson) was able to meet the state’s safety standards and allow this event to take place,” Brock Zearfoss continued. “Safety is the priority, but hopefully more and more tracks are able to find a way to host races sooner than later.”
