Khloie Bellen Tops Caroga Creek / Dodge City Virtual Best Of Show Contest
Story By: TOBY LAGRANGE / CAROGA CREEK RACEPARK – EPHRATAH, NY – With the cancellation of the Northeast Race Car Show and Fonda Speedway Car Shows at the ViaPort Rotterdam Mall over the past couple of weeks, management at both the Caroga Creek RacePark and Dodge City Speedway came together to create a unique type of off-season show.
Just over a week ago it was announced that the two tracks would come together and present a Virtual Race Car Show. The tracks asked for competitors to send in a picture of their 2020 rides. The pictures were then posted to Facebook where fans of both tracks would vote on their favorite looking rides.
The voting ended on Friday March 20th with the winners being announced on Social Media Saturday afternoon. When all was said and done, the final vote total would see a familiar last name on top of the leaderboard.
The 2020 Caroga Creek RacePark/Dodge City Speedway Virtual Best of Show Winner is Khloie Bellen. Bellen, a third-generation racer out of Mayfield, New York was voted best of show over another driver with a familiar last name in local racing – E.J. Hatch. Hatch, from East Nassau, New York was the 2019 Ironman Champion at the Lebanon Valley Kartway.
Finishing third in the voting was Zoey Roberts. Roberts was the 2019 WCRS Novice Champion (5-9 years old). Addisyn Roger ended up fourth in the final voting. Bad Addisyn as she is called, is starting her first full year of racing after picking up some wins in 2019.
Rounding out the top five vote getters is Timmy Wilmot. Wilmot will be entering his rookie season in the Slingshot division after competing in karts and on two wheels at Royal Mountain competing in Supercross and Motocross.
Bellen will be honored with an award at the Caroga Creek Awards Banquet in April. More details on the banquet will be available in the coming weeks.
